Welcome To Roundabout Etruria

Pre School

In our pre-school room, children are aged between 3 and 5 years old.
Your child will be working towards achieving some of the early learning goals set out by the Qualification and curriculum Authority.
The six learning areas are;

  • Personal, social and emotional
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Physical
  • Creative

Your child will have an initial assessment when they join the group and there will be an assessment at the end of each term i.e. December, April and July.
Each child at the nursery has a key worker.

There is also a Special needs co-ordinator that will off advice to anyone who feels their child may have a special need. Copies of policies will be made available to all parents.



Dietary requirements will be respected at all settings.
A healthy eating plan is followed at the Nurseries.

At Roundabout we have a Sensory room -  A good place for the children to relax.

At Etruria Nursery the children's rooms are dependent on age.

Baby Room where the children are aged upto 12 months


Toddler Room where the children are aged upto 2yrs


Tweenie Room where the children are aged upto 3yrs


Pre-School Room where the children are 3+


We collect children from several schools Etruscan, Broom, Northwood, The Grove, and St George and St Martins.

The Baby Room and Toddler room have a staffing ratio of 1 to 3
The tweenie room has a staffing ratio of 1 to 4.
The Pre-School room has a staffing ratio of 1 to 8

Baby room
The routine in the baby room is very flexible. Staff will discuss baby routines with parents so that decisions can be made about feeding, sleep-time, weaning etc. Staff will provide a range of stimulating and sensory activities to encourage all areas of development.
 
Toddler room
In the toddler room there is a flexible approach to learning. At this age children develop at a rapid rate. they are learning to walk,feed themselves, talk and becoming social beings. they are offered a wide range of activities to encourage all areas of development.
 
Tweenie room
In the tweenie room the day is a little more structured. The children are encouraged to sit a little for stories and activities. At this age potty training is usually started. This will be discussed with individual parents to decide if the child is ready. At this age the child's vocabulary is developing rapidly and a keen interest in books is encouraged. There is a flexible approach to sleep-time.
